Q & A with the Author
1. Tell me about your book, Hypermobile and Happy.
This is the only book in existence that gives the natural and holistic healing protocols for symptoms caused by hypermobility. It is the only place to find the true cures for symptoms of Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS).
2. Did you just say that the book Hypermobile and Happy lists cures for EDS? I’ve heard doctors say there is no cure for EDS.
The symptoms of EDS can usually be cured with natural and holistic treatments; once you have no chronic symptoms, you no longer qualify for a diagnosis of EDS. Doctors think there is no cure because there is no medical cure. Pharmaceutical drugs and surgeries are not usually very successful for this population. But natural and holistic treatments work well, and they are even backed by science.
3. If someone with EDS uses the natural and holistic protocols and eliminates their symptoms, will they lose their hypermobility?
Most people who are born with above-average flexibility in their joints will always have above-average flexibility in their joints, even if they heal the symptoms they have that are caused by hypermobility. Of course, even people who have not healed yet are likely to develop stiffness in their joints over time. Surprisingly, healing their symptoms will return their flexibility! However, when healing has occurred, the joints are going to lose their instability and may have a reduction in the excessive range of motion they previously had. People with symptom-free hypermobility are lucky in that they have freedom of movement, agility, and gracefulness beyond what most people have.
4. What about other qualities of hypermobility, like soft skin and youthful appearance – will those go away when unpleasant symptoms are healed?
No! In fact, they will become even better. When someone is suffering with symptoms of hypermobility, their skin loses its structure, so it gives way too easily when it is touched, and it hangs in wrinkles on certain body parts. When hypermobility is treated the way it is described in Hypermobile and Happy, the skin regains firmness and strength, but it will still be softer and more youthful than average.
5. Is that all? The joints and skin will get better, but what about digestive system problems?
The same treatments that improve the strength and operation of the joints and skin will also improve the strength and operation of the gut linings, muscles, and nerve fibers all throughout the digestive tract. There are some ways to address the digestive system specifically so that it can feel better faster, but all of the systems of the body work together and heal together, really.
6. Can natural and holistic treatments work for all of the different systems of the body?
Yes! The integumentary (skin, hair, and nails), skeletal (bones), muscular, nervous (brain and nerves), endocrine (hormones), cardiovascular (heart and blood), lymphatic, respiratory (lungs), digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems are all affected by hypermobility and all can heal with the natural and holistic treatments in Hypermobile and Happy.
7. I’ve heard that for some people, ADHD and autism may be caused by hypermobility. Will those conditions be affected by the natural and holistic treatments in Hypermobile and Happy?
The book does not aim to cure ADHD and autism, but there is a significant overlap in the negative symptoms of those conditions and EDS – things like light and sound sensitivity, difficulty sleeping, feelings of anxiety, unexplained pain, unclear thinking, difficulty making decisions, and digestive upset. The natural and holistic treatment options in Hypermobile and Happy will address those negative symptoms and, once they are gone, the other characteristics of these diagnoses will become assets – things like creative thinking, curiosity, intelligence, empathy, intuitive abilities, and acute awareness of surroundings. I like to say that hypermobility becomes a super power more and more as you heal.Write your text here...
